The 7 periods of church history

The Commencement of the High Priestly ministration for Corporate repentance of the 7 churches

The times of the gentiles

, The ministration for corporate repentance would come to an end in 1980.

7 periods of church history are presented with Jesus High Priestly ministration of corporate repentance commencing sometime after his resurrection as stated in the verse below.

The resurrection of Christ  Hebrews 6: 19,20 = Commencement of the High Priestly ministration for Corporate repentance of the 7 churches

The ministration for corporate repentance would come to an end in 1980 since the prophecy of Luke 21:24 presents the Kairoi or allotted probationary time for the nations of  this world which would also include Holy nations or churches but to be more specific it marks the expiration date for  the true corporate entity Holy nation church which the Bible calls Laodicea.

Jerusalem Basic Law 1980

Is found in the Holy Place where the 7 branched candle stick represents Jesus as the Light of the World, the interpretation is found in John 9 where Jesus stated the following, ” while I am in the world I am the light of the world”.

A secondary interpretation is also applicable to the Congregation of Israel as the Light of the World since Jesus told his disciples that they were the light of the world. See Matthew 5:14-16.

The Light or truth that God’s people would preach to the world is the fact that Jesus is the bread that came down from heaven and that is the reason why the table of show-bread is directly opposite to the 7 branched Candlestick more commonly known as the Menorah.

Whenever the High Priest sinned or whenever the people sinned as a group, the sin was confessed and the blood of the animal that was sacrificed was registered on the horns of that particular Altar of Incense. This information can be found in Leviticus 4: 1-13, since the sin of the anointed priest included the whole Congregation in corporate sin.

Part 2 is found in Leviticus 4:13-18 when it was the sin of the Congregation. In both categories there was a record of confessed corporate sin which was registered on the horns of the Altar of Incense in blood.

The second part of this fourth facet of the truth is in relation to the Holy Place which represented the Congregation of Israel as well as the second agenda of the Sanctuary which was Corporate Repentance.

In Revelation 1: we see Jesus dressed as High Priest and he is seen surrounded by 7 candlesticks which are the New Testament equivalent of the Congregation of Israel and are named as 7 churches, Ephesus , Smyrna, Pergamos, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea.

Corporate repentance is of the utmost importance for God’s people as we shall later study. Its fulfillment is found in the messages to the 7 churches in Revelation chapters 1,2,3 where 5 are those churches are called to repentance (acknowledgement of their corporate sins) and the other two which were of the 7 passed the corporate test of fidelity before God. They were true to God with their message and zeal and love for the truth.

In order to get a better understanding of the concept of corporate repentance notice the message of Revelation 2:4,5

Jesus our High Priest is telling the Ephesian Church which represented a literal church in Asia Minor  as well as an era of church history that he has something against her on account of the fact that she has abandoned her first love. Jesus then tells the Ephesians to repent from their fallen condition and to regain their  former love and zeal for the truth. He then goes on to say that if they don’t repent he will remove their candlestick out of his place.

Here we see a clear message of what can be defined as corporate spewing. (God would no longer use that corporate entity) for the proclamation of the truth if repentance would not have taken place.

Ephesus
Revelation 2:4,5

Other examples regarding corporate repentance can be found in the following references to the church at

Pergamos
Revelation 2:14,15,16

Thyatira
Revelation 2: 20,21,22,23

Sardis
Revelation 3: 1, 2, 3

Laodicea
Revelation 3: 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19

You will also notice an interesting detail concerning Laodicea

If any man in Laodicea repents and opens the door of their heart to Yeshua Jesus and to the Father , they will both have fellowship with that individual. Here we have a clear distinction of corporate accountability and individual responsibility.

If a corporate entity refuses to repent before God at the appointed time, then the individual within that group must withdraw his membership and walk with God alone.

1863
Laodicea was set up as a corporate body in 1863 along with a denominational name . It was from this specific date that she started growing in numbers (becoming rich and increased with goods) as stated in Revelation 3:16.

1888
Even though Laodicea received the message of the restoration of the Sabbath as well as the importance of obedience to God’s precepts in the form of the 10 commandments she became legalistic and luke warm as well as rich and increased with goods. It was in the year 1888 that God sent her the message of his righteousness by way of two messengers,  Alonzo T. Jones and EJ Waggoner. Laodicea was told by her prophetic messenger that the message that was given to her was the commencement of the outpouring of the Holy spirit by way of Christ’s righteousness. Sadly speaking the message of Christ- righteousness was rejected by the leading men.
Harlotry and the formation of a House of merchandise:

1901 -1903 – 40 yrs after
During the 1901 general conference session the agenda was to establish a committee of 25 men with a rotating chairman who would not be in office for more than a period of 12 months.  By way of  his unseen hand  God would have taken control of Laodicea . It was stated by the prophetic messenger that Laodicea would repeat the same sin of ancient Israel during the time of King Saul when they chose to have a king over them instead of having direct ruler-ship from God.

1903 General Conference session:
A gag order was put in the meeting by a small group of men who took control and the agenda of the 1901 session was cast aside in order to bring back the General Conference presidency in the form of permanent chairman.
Prophetic messenger responds :

Isaiah 1:21, The once faithful city becoming a harlot:
The Laodicean prophetic messenger issued the warning from this specific verse and later stated that Laodicea had become a house of merchandise from whence the divine presence had departed.  This statement brings to mind when Jesus took a whip and cast out the merchants who were selling in his Father’s house.

The messenger later stated that Laodicea was to be weighed on the balances of the Heavenly Sanctuary and if not true to her trust the verdict  would be found wanting.  This was a direct warning and call for corporate repentance which is the second agenda of the Sanctuary and is found in Leviticus 4:13, 18.

1950’s
Elders Robert Wieland and Donald K. Short echo the call for denominational repentance during the 50’s and the call was given by way of a study  called 1888 reexamined. The first time that the Laodicean leadership read the document they stated that it was too critical of the church. The second time they stated that the fruitage of these documents was evil.

1952
Laodicean Worldwide Bible conference :
This global conference  was presented as a warning that Laodicean corporate probationary time was about to expire.  The main speaker was well aware of the fact that Jesus prophecy of Luke 21:24 had not yet been fulfilled in 1952 yet his observation was very important on account of the fact that he compared it with another prophecy  which is found in Genesis 15 (the times of the Amorites) .

June 1967
It was during June of 1967 that the 6 day war began and on the very same month the Laodicean leadership informed elders Wieland and Short that they could not and would not repent and any effort to do so would be useless. They also stated that they could not be held accountable for the sins of the men of the 1880s and 1890s.

Achrihou
A Greek idiomatic expression which is translated as until. This expression implies that the close of corporate probation was not defined by just one event such as the annexation of East Jerusalem by Israeli forces in June 1967. There would have to be another event to close the achrihou on account of the fact that this expression implies that there is a brief but definite period of time which is defined by occurring events the first being the annexation of East Jerusalem and the latter being the declaration in 1980 that Jerusalem was to be the Capital of a United Israel in its entirety.

1980
Swiss Professor Jean R. Zurcher alerted Laodicea  regarding the fact that a prophecy had been fulfilled. It was unfortunate that even Professor Zurcher himself did not understand the full meaning of the message that God was trying to convey to his Laodicean church on the world field by way of its presentation within the Laodicean Sabbath School lesson studies. 1980 marked the final year of opportunity for corporate repentance for the true church which arrived at the boundary or limit of her probationary time  in relation to the preaching of the Gospel message to the nations of planet earth. This does not mean that her membership as individuals are lost, it simply means that God has spewed her out.
